1-04 Carol's Article
本集故事是关于Carol想得到一个文字编辑的机会，她想证明自己的写作才华，可是文章让人啼笑皆非。于是她很不开心，妈妈Maggie和她的谈话使她找到了自我 。Maggie和Jason在看到Carol的文章后的谈话很有教育意义，是父母的心声。值得回味。

No kid wants your honest opinion. They want unconditional approval.And what if you don't approve? Then you'll have a significant dilemma much like the one you're in now.
没有哪个小孩想要你的诚实意见。他们想要你的无条件的赞成。而且什么如果你不赞同? 你将会面临一个巨大的困境如同你在现在所处。
这是Jason的有感而发，可以看出一个父亲对孩子的个性是多么的了解啊。

She called it "I clam, therefore I am".
这是Maggie在转述Carol的话，该句脱胎于哲学家笛卡儿的“I think, therefore I am”.译为我思故我在。剧中"I clam, therefore I am".是我沉默所以我存在。可以映射出一个青春女孩的自信和舍我其谁的气概,同时也时桀骜不逊。clam 愿意是蚌，剧中是沉默的人，Carol自喻。和诗的clam （真的蚌），还算匹配得当吧。

晚安 我的大人。Carol不耐烦时说的。pumpkin南瓜，也是重要人物之意。

Oh, excuse me, I forgot who I was talking to.It is replete with stinky all city.At least you can spell. The other, they can't even spell. But you spell words that nobody knows.What in the hell is "Muculance"?
Eh..It's ah.. . It's basically .. slimy glob
Then you call it slimy glob. People know what slimy glob is.

这是Carol和老师的对话，非常有趣，生动的体现了Carol心理活动，一开始Carol以为老师赞赏她的文辞Really?You like my writing? Ah! I worked so hard on my metaphors？真的吗？？我就是在隐喻上下功夫啊。看出一个稚气未脱的女孩多么希望得到师长的肯定。
接着老师说Your metaphors stink.Similies are more..Similies stink 。这对Carol无疑是晴空霹雳。Carol傻掉了。所以老师马上改口了Oh, excuse me, I forgot who I was talking to.Carol傻掉了。Oh, excuse me, I forgot who I was talking to。后来两人争论起来，Carol理亏无言以对，掉头冲出办公室。
这段师生对话非常经典，我是百看不厌啊。。。。我真的无法用我匮乏的文字表达该段的趣味。我说得再多也不如大家一看。从14：00开始。注意老师和Carol的神态。。这段我吐血推荐。

15：00开始是家人在看棒球赛，请大家多看几遍，时间原因我就不赘诉了。

I turned it down!
家人欢迎Carol回来，夸她是作家。（父母知道她的文章不好故意的）Carol明明是被淘汰的，硬要说我不干了，我拒绝了。可见她的自尊心是多么的强。
